Day 1.Pick up from the Kathmandu Airport
Get down at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Receive a warm welcome from our staff and enjoy the ride to the hotel followed by dinner. Stay for an overnight before you begin your journey.
Day 2.Visiting Temples of Kathmandu
Pray at the Pashupatinath temple and also do a sightseeing of other tourist attractions in the city. The temple of Pashupatinath is located on the gorgeous Bagmati River. Enjoy a heavy breakfast, lunch and dinner with an overnight stay, before you make preparations to commence the yatra from the next day.
Day 3.Fly to Lhasa
Enjoy flying amidst the clouds and experience the breathtaking view of the Himalayas. You will take 1 hour to reach the beautiful location of Lhasa. Enjoy the fortune of taking a glimpse of Mount Everest. Once you reach the airport of Gonggar, our staff will fetch you from the airport and drop you at the guesthouse. Explore the beautiful Barkhor market for a street shopping and stay for an overnight at the guesthouse. The plan will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4.Travel from Lhasa to Shigatse
Enjoy your morning breakfast before beginning the journey to Shigatse by a deluxe bus. To share a fact, Shigaste is the second largest city of Tibet. You will find beautiful locations like Khamba la Pass, the Holy Yamdrol Lake, beautiful landscapes of Gyantse, Panchen Rinpoche seat-Tashilumpo Monastery on your way to Shigatse. Stay for an overnight at the Guesthouse after having lunch and dinner.
Day 5.Travel from Shigatse to Saga
Take the pleasure of a long drive with the beautiful view of mountains and lush green landscapes. You will also see the sacred Brahmaputra River. Make an overnight stay at the Dongba guesthouse. The plan includes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 6.Travel from Saga to Mansarovar
Get up early morning and begin your journey to Lake Mansarovar Chiu Gompa. Enjoy the breakfast and head towards Lake Mansarovar via MayumLa Check Post. It is an army check post which will follow the formalities of verification. It is one of the largest check posts of Tibet.Continue to drive and experience the first glimpse of Mansarovar Lake and Kailash.
From this location, you will also get to see Mt Gurla Mandhata towards south and Mount Kailash towards north. Complete the parikrama of Lake Mansarovar. The parikrama will take about 3 hours by eco bus. You will also see the Rakshas Lake. Stay at the Guesthouse for an overnight. The plan includes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 7.Travel to Darchen
The staff will arrange tents for a holy dip in Mansarovar Lake. You may perform the rituals, hawan, and prayers to Lord Shiva on the banks of the Lake. Enjoy the lunch and proceed to Darchen by an hour’s drive. It includes, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 8.Travel to Diraphuk
Take a ride of 15 kms to Yama Dwar. This is the point from where your actual trek will begin. North facing of the Darshan is considered to be auspicious for the devotees. In case you do not wish to trek, you will need to drive from Yamdwar to Darchen.
Parikrama isn’t a compulsion; many people prefer to ride by horse and some prefer on foot. Old people do not perform it at all. People who are unable to do the Parikrama can return from Yamdwar back to Guest House, Darchen. The meals and accommodation are arranged at the guesthouse for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 9.Travel to Zuthulphuk via Dolma la Pass
Take an early morning breakfast and begin trekking to Dolma La Pass. It is a journey of 22 KMS. Second day of the journey could be challenging for those who are not used to trekking. The yatra takes you up to 18,600 ft height above sea level. You need to begin from Dolma La Pass descend to GauriKund and then trek some more along the gorgeous river on the way to Zuthulpuk. There are overnight arrangements at a Lodge or a Guest House.
The travelers and trekkers may have to trek about 6-7 KM on their second day of yatra. The passage is very steep to climb and thus, it makes a difficult phase of the journey to cover. We request the travelers to take rest wherever possible. Once they finish the 7 KM journey, the remaining 16 KMS are easy to cover as the paths are plain and convenient to walk.
Point to Remember: On your second day of Parikrama, you will face Shivasthal. It is a sacred place for Tibetans who have their own religious beliefs. You will also come across GauriKund. The view is amazingly beautiful and you will be able to see Mount Kailash facing east. The meals are arranged at the Guest House along with an overnight stay.
Day 10.Travel to Zhongguo and Saga
Begin trekking to the breathtaking location of Zhongguo. The journey is not as difficult as the other places. It is a trek of 2 hours approx...Once you complete the trekking, you will then drive to the Saga town. Enjoy your meals served at the guesthouse and sleep at peace for a night.
Day 11.Travel to Shigatse
Get up early morning for breakfast and then a drive to Shigatse. Explore the market and shop for your basic needs. The meals will be provided at the guesthouse followed by an overnight stay.
Day 12.Travel Back to Lhasa
Enjoy a healthy breakfast and begin your drive to Lhasa. Explore the Lhasa market and stay for the final period of vacation at Tibet.Enjoy your stay at a 4 star hotel that is inclusive of three time meals.
Day 13.Travel back to Kathmandu
Our staff will drop you to the airport for Kathmandu. Once you land at Kathmandu, our staff will provide a pick up and drop facility from the airport to the hotel. Enjoy the evening exchanging pictures and discussing the experience of the journey with your friends and family. The package includes breakfast and lunch.
Day 14.Travel back to Hometown
Finally, you will return to your hometown carrying all the unforgettable memories of Kailash Yatra. Our staff will arrange for your drop facilities at the airport.

1. What is the registration process to begin the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
Refer to the Kailash Yatra 2020 request form for bookings. Send a soft copy of your complete details along with the booking form & passport at our email id: firstname.lastname@example.org. After your request is approved, you may send the booking amount and transaction details to Trip to Temple’s account.The remaining balance due can be cleared a month prior to commencing the Yatra.
2. At what age can a person plan the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
The minimum age requirement to commence the journey is 18 and maximum is 70 years. The rule is effective from 1st January, 2019.
3.Is there is any limit to carry luggage and weight for the yatra?
Try to keep your luggage as light as you can. Most flights have a limit of carrying not more than 20 kg. The holy water that you will collect on your way back home also has a limitation. Avoid carrying a lot of clothes. Once you begin your journey, there will be little time to change your outfits every day.
4.How is the weather condition and what’s the best time to travel?
The temperature on the top may range from 20-5’c. Ideally, the yatra begins from starting of May and most people prefer the same period for their journey. The first few days of May see some snow and cold climate. May last & June dates are most preferred dates for Yatra. July are not an ideal choice for travelers as the helicopter rides are almost shut down due to rain. The month of September is ideal for traveling. Days are pleasant and nights are chilling
5.How do I obtain Tibet’s Permission and VISA for commencing my Kailash yatra?
There are two crucial documents required for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, 1st one is Yatra Permit & 2nd one is Chinese VISA. Both are group documents & not issued to individuals for this Yatra. CIPSC issues to Kailash Yatra permit to registered Tour agencies. It’s a group permit, not issued to individuals. On the basis of Yatra Permit, VISA is applied in Chinese embassy which issues group stapled VISA on plain paper. People who are taking overland route or Helicopter route, starting from Kathmandu will submit their original passport there for VISA & remaining who are taking Lucknow route will have to send original passport to our Delhi office one month before the Yatra date for VISA purpose. Passport will be returned in Nepal after completing VISA formalities. Pilgrims are required to carry additional ID proofs (Voter I Card / Aadhar Card / Driving License) too while going for the Yatra.
The Chinese officials only allow group VISA requests for the Kailash Yatra and won’t entertain individual requests.
6.What currency can be taken to Nepal for traveling?
Indian currencies are accepted in Nepal but after the demonetization efforts by the Indian Government, Rs.500 & 1000 notes will not be accepted. You may need to carry Rs. 100 notes along. Chinese Yuan which is the Chinese currency is only accepted in Tibet. Some travelers halt to exchange their currency at different locations of Purang, Lucknow, and Kathmandu.Try to carry more of cash than debit or credit cards as they may not be in use at most places.
7.What all items I must carry on my way to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
The travelers will receive a list of items to carry a month before the journey.
8.How is the standard of accommodation and what are the hotel features for the stay?
4-5 Nights hotel accommodation in Helicopter route & 2 nights hotel accommodation in Overland route. Guesthouse accommodation at rest of the places. One need to understand that Himalaya is place with very limited facilities & pilgrims need to adjust / co-operate at many places especially in case of weather problem or rush.
9.How do I travel to Kailash Mansarovar, what are the modes of transport?
Helicopter Trip from Lucknow / Nepalganj will include Flight from Nepalganj to Simikot & from Kathmandu includes Kathmandu – Nepalganj flight too. From Simikot – Hilsa is by Helicopter. Transportation in Tibet side would be by Volvo category vehicle.
In Overland Trip transportation in Nepal side would be in AC / Non-AC coach & in Tibet side, it would be in Volvo category Bus.
10.How is the hygiene condition of the toilets and would there be any discomfort for ladies?
Toilets are available at several hotel locations. The trip via Purang is more convenient as TriptoTemples require 2 days hotel accommodation providing you more comfort.Guest Houses may not have well maintained toilets like the hotels.
11.Is the food served well?
Our staff follows a strict Hygienic Routine check on all meals including, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals will be served throughout the planned journey. You will also be served normal and hot drinking water. Our team has a kitchen area where meals are freshly prepared as per the size of the group.
12.What are the medical facilities at Kailash Mansarovar Yatra?
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is executed in limited facility area. There is no doctor with the group. During the Yatra. Tour guide is experienced & keep some basic medicines. In Tibet part, Tibetan guide is best person to manage some exigency. He is connected with all major departments & supports accordingly. In case of any health / weather exigency rescue can be done but expenses of the same will be borne by pilgrim. Package cost doesn’t include any such expenses. Doctor facility is available in Purang& can be availed at customer’s cost. Although, the medical facilities are available at some places, we recommend you to plan your journey only if you are physically fit. Few old age people don’t perform Kailash Parikrama if not comfortable there & stay at Darchen after Kailash Darshan from Yam Dwar. Kailash is visible from Darchen as well.Get yourself medically examined as the company would not hold any responsibility for health related issues and mishaps during the journey. Also, carry all the medicines recommended by your doctor before you commence your journey.
13.What the possible health conditions that one is likely to suffer during the Yatra?
Due to lower oxygen density and adverse climatic conditions, you are likely to suffer from common health issues like, nausea, migraines, headaches, sleeplessness, vomiting, and breathlessness.
14.How is the mobile network connectivity on the mountains? If it likely to suffer just like other pilgrims?
The mobile connectivity is good throughout the journey. You will be on roaming and you can also buy a local sim by submitting your passport copy to the authorities. We suggest that you switch off your data connection while traveling as roaming charges may apply that will be expensive.
