Highlights of the Tour

Itinerary

Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Tour begins with a morning flight from Delhi to Lucknow. A short road journey takes you to Nepalgunj, a warm low-altitude town at around 150 m. Here, the group meets for the first briefing. Pilgrims often describe this evening as the moment when the real intention settles in.

Weather decides everything on this route. The small aircraft to Simikot (around 2910 m) fly only when the sky is clear. Once you reach Simikot, thel mountain air reminds you that the high-altitude phase of your Kailash Yatra has begun. If the weather supports, some groups even take an early helicopter to Hilsa to save time.

A short helicopter ride takes you to Hilsa, a small border village. After completing immigration formalities on both sides, the group enters Tibet. The drive to Taklakot (around 4025 m) is your first taste of the Tibetan landscape. Rest is extremely important here as the body prepares for even higher altitudes.

This day is for rest, slow walks, and simple meals. Many travellers describe Taklakot as the day they learn patience. The markets also have basic trekking essentials in case you forgot something.

This is the most emotional day of the yatra. The drive passes by Rakshas Tal and finally brings you to Lake Mansarovar at 4590 m. If the sky is clear, you also get your first full view of Mount Kailash. This is where the Tristan darshan becomes real.

Travel from Mansarovar to Darchen and then onward to Tarboche, where the famous Yam Dwar stands. The trek to Dirapuk is around 12 km, and although the trail is not very steep, the altitude (around 5210 m) makes every step slow and mindful. At Dirapuk, the majestic North Face of Kailash stands right before you.

This is the toughest day of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Tour. You climb to Dolma La Pass (5630 m) and then descend toward Gauri Kund. The entire stretch is around 22 km. Most pilgrims walk slowly, take breaks and stay with the group.

A short trek brings you back to the road where vehicles are waiting. The group returns to Taklakot for rest and celebration, because as per many of them, the yatra is fulfilled.

Cross the border again, fly back to Simikot and Nepalgunj, and finally return to Lucknow. Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Tour ends back in Delhi. A Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Tour from Delhi to Delhi is not only a travel plan,it is a shift in how you feel, think, and see your own life.
