The Government of India has long recognised how significant this Yatra is for mankind. Not only does it facilitate travel, but it also extends financial support to eligible Indian pilgrims who undertake this spiritual journey. The Ministry of External Affairs organises travel through two official routes: Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La Pass in Sikkim. Beyond these, trips are also organised by private operators via Lucknow, Kathmandu, and Lhasa. Documents Required
Documents Required for Claiming the Subsidy
Any Indian citizen holding a valid passport, aged 65 years or below, and certified medically fit by a qualified doctor is eligible to travel to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Travel can be undertaken through India, Nepal, or Tibet entry points as part of a pre-organised group. The following documents are generally required when applying for the subsidy:
