There is a meaningful difference between seeing Kailash and completing the Kailash Parikrama. The darshan from Darchen base camp or from the air carries its own grace — but the 52-kilometre circumambulation of Mount Kailash, completed on foot over three days, crossing the Dolma La Pass at 5,630 metres and spending nights at Dirapuk and Zutulpuk in the shadow of the mountain, is a different act entirely. It is not sightseeing. It is pilgrimage in its most complete and ancient form.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 11 Days from Lucknow is designed for the pilgrim who wants exactly this — the full Parikrama, the Mansarovar holy dip, the complete sacred experience — while still benefiting from the helicopter route's elimination of the long overland road journey through Tibet. Starting directly from Lucknow and flying via Nepalgunj and Hilsa to the Tibet border, this package delivers you to Purang in hours rather than days, conserving the physical and spiritual energy you will need for the Parikrama itself. What distinguishes this itinerary is the quality of its pacing. Two nights at Purang provide genuine acclimatisation time at 3,700 metres before the ascent to Mansarovar and Darchen. One full night at Lake Mansarovar allows the Brahma Muhurta holy dip on Purnima, the complete Mansarovar Puja and the full 105-kilometre Mansarovar Parikrama by AC bus — without rush. A dedicated acclimatisation day at Darchen before the Parikrama begins gives every pilgrim's body the time it needs to prepare for the Dolma La crossing at 5,630 metres. All departure dates are meticulously Panchang-aligned. Skand Shashthi batches are timed to arrive at Mansarovar on Shashthi; Pradosh Vrat batches reach Dirapuk during Pradosh; Purnima batches arrive at Dirapuk for the full moon night at Kailash's north face — one of the most transcendent experiences the Yatra can offer. Ganesh Chaturthi batches are aligned to arrive at Mansarovar on Chaturthi. 2026 is the Year of the Horse — the most auspicious Kailash Yatra cycle in twelve years. One Parikrama in 2026 earns the spiritual merit of thirteen in an ordinary year. For the pilgrim who wants to do the Parikrama completely, efficiently and in the most spiritually potent year available, this is the package. May through September batches are available. Most early batches are already full. Book your preferred date before it closes.
Experience the complete Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with full Parikrama, Mansarovar darshan, and helicopter access — a spiritually complete 11-days journey.
Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra begins at Lucknow. Lucknow is the most convenient departure city for pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and across the Hindi heartland. Upon arrival at Nepalgunj, the TTT representative and your dedicated guide meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You';ll be able to check-in after 1 pm only. The room will be on twin/triple sharing basis. The day is at your lesiure to explore the city of Nawabs and its rich heritage and culture
After breakfast, you will be driven for around 4-5 hrs in an AC coach to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival at Nepalgunj, the TTT representative and your dedicated guide will help you to check-in into your hotel. The hotel room will be on twin-sharing basis. The afternoon is for document verification, permit checks, altitude briefing and a thorough pre-departure session covering the complete journey ahead — every sacred site, every day's logistics, the acclimatisation plan, Parikrama protocols and medical preparations for the Tibetan Plateau. Overnight stay at Nepalgunj.
Check out of your hotel early in the morning and head to the airport to board a short 40–50 minute flight to Simikot. Upon arrival, a 20-minute helicopter ride will take you onward to Hilsa, where you'll check in to a guest house for an overnight stay. Please note that accommodation at either Simikot or Hilsa is subject to flight and helicopter availability. To prepare for the Mount Kailash Parikrama, a short acclimatization trek may be arranged — staying at either of these high-altitude locations is an important step in adjusting to the elevation.
After breakfast, you depart and cross into Tibet. Following immigration and customs formalities, you are welcomed by your Tibetan-authorized guide and vehicle for the drive to Purang (Taklakot) — the first town inside Tibet and your acclimatisation base for the next two nights. Purang carries an ancient legacy as a trans-Himalayan hub for trade, pilgrimage, and cultural exchange. The afternoon is yours for gentle walks, rest, and acclimatisation. Your Tibetan guide will provide an orientation on the sacred geography of the Kailash-Mansarovar region, setting the spiritual and cultural context for the journey ahead. You may also explore the local market, a great opportunity to pick up any last-minute Yatra essentials. Recommended items to purchase in Purang: Trekking poles, Oxygen cans, Face masks, Fresh fruits, Packed juices
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to the sacred Lake Mansarovar. En route, you will be blessed with your first breathtaking glimpse of Mount Kailash and Rakshastal — a moment that many pilgrims describe as deeply moving. Upon arrival, the Parikrama (circumambulation) of Lake Mansarovar begins — a sacred circuit of approximately 90 km around one of the holiest lakes in the world. Overnight stay at a guest house near the lake. If weather permitting, you are welcome to visit the lake independently in small groups — either late at night or during the auspicious Brahma Muhurat (pre-dawn hours) — to experience the profound stillness and divinity of this sacred site.
After breakfast, a short 45-minute drive brings you to Darchen — the base camp and gateway for the sacred Kailash Parikrama. Settle in to your hotel, from where the majestic south face of Mount Kailash is clearly visible — offering a powerful first close-up view of the sacred peak that awaits you. The evening is kept free for rest, reflection and quiet preparation for the Parikrama that begins tomorrow.
After breakfast, drive to Yamdwar — the sacred gateway that marks the formal beginning of the Kailash Parikrama. Take a moment here for darshan of the magnificent south face of Mount Kailash before lacing up for the trek ahead. From Yamdwar, begin the 14 km trek to Dirapuk — a rewarding and spiritually charged walk during which the south, west and north faces of Mount Kailash are revealed one by one, each turn of the trail offering a new and awe-inspiring perspective of the sacred peak. Overnight stay at Dirapuk (No washroom facility).
Note : The Parikrama is optional. Yatris who choose not to undertake it will be driven back to Darchen or Purang as per the Tibetan guide's instructions and will rejoin the group after the third day of Parikrama is completed. Yatris who choose not to undertake the Parikrama will be transferred from Yamdwar back to Darchen or Purang, as directed by the Tibetan guide. They will rejoin the rest of the group during the first half of the day on which the third day of Parikrama is completed.
About Yamdwar : Yamdwar is a sacred and deeply revered temple. It is believed that passing through its gates purifies a pilgrim of all unintentional sins — making it a meaningful threshold to cross, regardless of whether one proceeds with the full Parikrama.
Accommodation Note : For those undertaking the Parikrama, stays are in dormitories along the route. Those opting out will be accommodated in hotels at Darchen or Purang. The differential in accommodation charges — approximately 500 yuan — is to be borne by the respective Yatris. Mount Kailash remains clearly visible from both Darchen and Purang throughout.
Meals During Parikrama : A light packed lunch is provided each day on the trail, typically including one fruit, one packed juice, one biscuit, and a small portion of namkeen. Yatris are strongly encouraged to carry additional healthy snacks — such as dry fruits, protein bars or energy chews — to maintain stamina at high altitude.
The most demanding and spiritually exhilarating day of the Parikrama begins at 5:00 a.m. from Dirapuk. The first 6 km is a steep uphill climb — physically challenging but deeply rewarding. En route, you will pass Shivasthal, a sacred site of great significance, before making the final ascent to Dolma La Pass at 18,600 ft — the highest point of the entire Parikrama and a moment of profound spiritual achievement for every pilgrim. The next 6 km descends steeply from the pass. On your right, you will be treated to a glimpse of the serene Gaurikund lake nestled in the mountains below. The final 10 km eases into a relatively flat trail, bringing you gently into Zutulpuk for a well-earned overnight rest.
Please note : Even if you have opted for a pony for the Parikrama, this 6 km descent from Dolma La must be completed on foot.
Accommodation : Dormitory — multiple sharing, Washroom: Not available on-site
Important : Any Yatri who feels unwell or is unable to continue with the 2nd or 3rd day of the Parikrama should inform the Tibetan guide immediately. Ambulance assistance to Darchen or Purang can be arranged, subject to availability.
The third and final day of the Parikrama is a gentle 8 km walk from Zutulpuk — a fitting and unhurried conclusion to one of the most sacred journeys on earth. The trek typically takes around 3 hours and is generally completed by 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., leaving the rest of the day for travel and recovery. Upon completing the Parikrama, savour a moment of reflection and gratitude before boarding the vehicle for the drive to Darchen and then onward to Purang for an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, begin the long journey home. The day involves multiple legs of travel — by road, helicopter and flight — as you make your way back from the roof of the world. The route follows the same path as your onward journey: a drive to Hilsa, followed by a helicopter flight to Simikot, then an onward flight to Nepalgunj and finally a drive to Lucknow. Overnight stay will be confirmed based on how far the group progresses on the day — at a guest house if halting at Hilsa or Simikot or at a hotel upon reaching Lucknow.
Please note : The scheduling of flights and helicopter slots is managed by the respective local airport and helipad authorities and is subject to weather, air traffic and operational factors. Flexibility and patience on this day are appreciated. Key changes made:
After breakfast, you are free to proceed onward to your home destination. We hope you carry with you not just memories, but a transformation. Day 11 serves as a buffer day — built thoughtfully into the itinerary to account for weather-related delays that are common in the Simikot–Hilsa region. Hotel check-out: 11:00 a.m.
